So today I'm standing in Maxima, socially distancing whilst two elderly ladies were getting shopping carts, they were taking a long time, but that's cool, old people tend to be a little bit slower and I was on the phone anyway
Then the guy who collects the Carts came shoving me out of the way with a stack of carts without saying anything (fairly hard as well, it clearly wasn't an accident)
AND he bashed into the old ladies as well
What ever happened to speaking to someone instead of using shopping carts as a battering ram?!
The only thing that made the encounter pleasant was his face when I switched from English to Lithuanian to remind him of his manners and a few choice words in Russian for added spice
Are you all so rude or is it just to foreigners you don't expect can speak your language?
Can confirm this is still the same. Iām from Scotland, UK. Very well travelled around Europe, SE ASIA etc and lived in Melbourne, Australia for 3 years. From airport workers, uber drivers, shop owners - about 90% of Lithuanians I had to engage with across the 4 days were completely mute. Odd. Felt very unwelcome.
