What are some underrated/overlooked stories you've seen?

I'm looking for something new to read that isn't the few authors whose work I follow, and I've grown tired of sifting through alot of guff in the tags.

So, I was hoping you all could share some of thr stories or authors who you've read who are doing weird, interesting, and well-written works! Anything's on the table here. I just want to read something titillating, and ideally mentally stimulating.

Please please please don't just link your own works as "Well I'm pretty underrated." I mean, I won't know if you do, but follow the honor system!
