Iād love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this book and I plan to read it a second time . I can really relate to the themes of the Great Depression aftermath, especially in todayās job market. The richness and depth of all the characters are incredibleāshoutout to Mick Kelly! Can you believe McCullers wrote this when she was just 22? Thatās insane. Truly insane. Also, how ironic is it that she named a mute character āSingerā? And the way all the characters are obsessed with one another, but never to each other.
Dig deep of Jim Cows law and Southern America at that time. I watched a review somewhere saying this book is what makes America, America. As a non American, I donāt know how I feel about this comment.
