Post Body

I am moving to Lisbon in about a month. I speak the language fluently but have a hard time reading and writing. I have a family friend that is offering a nice room in Lisbon for 350 euros a month, along with several contacts that could help me find entry level work. This contact is also going to help me with the paperwork necessary to establish myself as a resident.

I was born in Spain, and so have a Spanish passport. From what I’ve been told, this allows me to live and work anywhere in the European Union. It should be noted that I’ve lived in the United States for the vast majority of my life, but I have traveled to and visited Europe on several occasions.

I was wondering if there are others who have been in similar situations and what they would say they would do differently if they could, so I may avoid common mistakes.

Thank you!
