I've tried like 7 different distros(linux mint, ubuntu, fedora, nobara, endeavour, garuda, manjaro) within the span of 5 days. I got to success on one of them but then I couldn't unbind my vfio and migrate my vm to another spot for more space. When I did get it, the performance was even better than windows.
It felt good for like an hour after days of getting it working.
One day I hope that they make linux as simple as windows and I can get the virtual machine running. For now I've wasted several days and I give up.
You should be able to open a vm, use it with your gpu, close it and then be able to use your host machine.
I don't understand why I have to do hackerman tier shit which takes hours and still not be able to do this.
In the time I couldve learned to program or play games more efficiently.
I'm not a fan of dual booting.
r/nucleuscoop is what keeps me tied to windows, such an amazing project that does not exist on linux.
For all their critiques about windows, windows works out the box, easy asf does what I want it to. It would be badass if there was a virtual machine as good as qemu/kvm on windows but trying hyper-v on my windows was suboptimal.
It's such a pain dude, these past few days made me frustrated about my intelligence and also technology.
If nucleus co-op ever gets a linux version or if someone ever makes a distro that rivals windows I'll head right that way but for now I can accept being a "filthy casual with spyware" cause all I want to do is play my fuckin games and not spend time configuring shit.
