Hey all,
Apart from the obvious "chmod" or group permission solutions, is there a way to tell Ubuntu to enable or disable entire categories of applications?
For example. Can I say "limit games to root" with a cronjob instead of putting all the game executables in a list and chmoding them with a forloop?
I want to avoid adding and removing users from a group because that requires login and logout AND I am nervous about chmoding directly because Im always afraid of doing things in Ubuntu in non-ubuntu ways since that can often break Ubuntu.
I was curious if Ubuntu had it's blessed way of managing entire categories of applications. That seems like an Ubuntu kinda thing to do.
Either that or maybe there is some access control method or software I am unaware of. I'm an old school Unix nerd from before a lot of these more modular/granular methods of administration.
Thanks!
