Let’s play a game. The title says it all convince me to switch from Windows 11 to Linux on my main rig. I mostly use my computer for mining on cpu, gpu and hdd. I also like to game from time to time. It will not be “easily” for me to switch because of chia mining…. It will be a pain for me to move all of my mining DB files. I know for chia mining moving to Linux would be much much better as it uses much less ram.

Requirements: I would need to be able to overclock and undervolt both my cpu and gpu, preferably with a gui but not necessary. I am running an all AMD system and am not opposed to running proprietary drivers/software if that is the best way to do things.

Bonus points: convince me to go with a me to a certain distribution. I am open to anything except pure arch or gentoo lol.

Background: I have moderate experience with Linux, in other words I am no noob. I am able to set up distorts, mess with grub, use package managers ext. I have mostly used Ubuntu and Manjaro in the past. My system is a 5900x with a 6800xt, and modded 570 and 590 and 32gigs of ram.

I am open to running Linux as a daily driver it will just be a lot of work because of my mining. Honestly at this point it’s almost more of a mining pc then anything else. I have to also get all of my chia HDD (all running ntfs) to play nicely with Linux.

Convince me all of this work as actually with all of the effort!
