Updated something yesterday, though I don't remember what, and I'm currently getting "Could not update ICEauthority file /home/trekkie1701c/.ICEauthority" whenever I try to log in to any window manager.
After some Google searching, I found a few commands to run in recovery mode (chown trekkie1701c:trekkie1701c/home/trekkie1701c/.ICEauthority
chmod 644 /home/trekkie1701c/.ICEauthority), however my home directory is encrypted. Trying to decrypt it with ecryptfs-mount-private results in saying that it's not setup properly.
I can log in to a command line outside of recovery with the directory mounted, but when I attempt to run the commands I get an input/output error. When I run ls -l to see who owns the file, it shows that I am correctly set as the owner.
Are there any other tips to fix this? Or should I just cut my losses, do a final backup of my home directory, and just reinstall?
