my boyfriend recently bought an old hp prodesk 600 G2 and installed linux mint. however, for whatever reason, the computer won't connect to the wifi in his house. it will say it's connected, but it won't show any bars and won't load anything. he is using a usb wifi adapter not a wifi card. we checked the functionality of the adapter on another computer that was running linux and it worked and connected fine. we also checked other devices in the same area of the house to make sure that it wasn't an issue with the distance from the router, and all the other devices were fine. what that leads me to is the it has to be a software issue of some kind. problem is, I don't know much about linux software at all, so I have no idea what can be done to fix this. does anyone have any ideas? anything at all helps. let me know if I skipped out on an important piece of information in this post, ill try to answer all your questions!
