Yesterday, I attempted to get an Final Fantasy XI private server working on my Manjaro install. I followed the steps to do this from this link here. One of the steps asked me to create a 32-bit wine prefix. I did so from this link here. The exact command I used was WINEPREFIX="$HOME/prefix32" WINEARCH=win32 wine wineboot
Once I added that prefix, none of my PROTON games run in Steam. The games I've tried were Deep Rock Galactic, Temtem, and Human: Fall Flat. All the NATIVE games I play run though such as Undermine, and Streets of Rogue.
I've since uninstalled wine, removed both the ~/prefix32 and ~/.wine directories completely, reinstalled wine, uninstalled steam-manjaro, removed the ~/.steam directory, and reinstalled steam-manjaro.
The game I am trying to get to run right now is Temtem, which worked previously. This is the console output from running steam within a terminal. From what I can tell from the error message, Proton is trying to run the 64bit version.
Kinda lost at this point as to what I could do to get my environment playing WINE/PROTON games again.
EDIT: Another strange behavior is that I can run games using Lutris and Wine that were not installed from Steam.
EDIT2: I just found out I can run games in Lutris that I've installed through Steam. Temtem boots up just fine, but since I didn't run it through steam, Temtem cannot connect to Steam's API and won't actually load my save.
EDIT3: Do I need to do something with Proton to make sure I'm using the correct wine prefix?
