Hopefully this question is as trivial as it seems. I want to try out Mate, and some cursory googling hinted that if I searched for the 'mint-meta-mate' package and installed it, that would give me the option at the login to switch between one or the other.
However, my system (including an aptitude search for just 'meta') doesn't seem to find such a package. I can see similar 'Mate' repositories, for, say, Ubuntu, but I don't know if those are the ones intended to match with LM 17.3. Perhaps the package is just missing now with the most recent update and I'm jumping the gun? But I thought I'd check to see if someone knows better what I'm looking for.
Edit Never mind. When I logged out and then logged back in, suddenly the system found it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ leaving this post up in case someone else has this problem.
