Hi all. Thanks for reading.
I currently have a Ryzen 5600x/Nvidia RTX 3070 build which is sat not doing much. I was considering selling but given the market is quite saturated at the moment, I'd be taking a massive loss so have decided to keep it.
But I'm considering removing windows entirely and making it a linux only desktop for the sole purpose of gaming. Almost a console like experience. I don't need any of the bloat that comes with Windows and generally all other PC related tasks I do either on a work laptop or on my Galaxy Fold 4.
I've been reading up on distros and am thinking about POP given its reported user friendliness and Nvidia driver accessibility.
However the overall debate on linux gaming is very divisive. So I wanted to hear straight from the community. Is this sensible or wise?
For context, I typically play single player story based games. So anti cheat isn't a major concern for me.
Thanks for any info/advice you can offer.
