So over a year ago I installed Ubuntu on my USB so I could boot it off of a USB cuz I didn't have enough space at the time while still keeping windows 10 on my SSD. I got it cuz I needed linux for studying computer science which I now dropped.
I don't quite remember what I did back then but the result was that while Ubuntu did work, the problem was that if I didn't have the usb drive plugged in while booting my PC it would enter something called grub rescue mode and there was nothing I could do. I would have to plug it in, and sometimes mash F11 so I could pick my SSD to boot from and then select windows in this new screen. I want to uninstall Linux now but am afraid that if I delete it from the USB I won't be able to get into windows again cuz of that grub rescue mode, and constantly having to plug that USB in and out is annoying and the added time for everything to load and I haven't used Linux in forever either.
So what do I do to fix this so I don't risk losing all my shit? Thank you in advance.
Edit: nevermind I managed to fix it. I manually followed this guide and put in those commands: https://recoverit.wondershare.com/partition-tips/repair-efi-bootloader-in-windows.html
