I decided to try using LaTeX in vim to type up my lab report in a month, so I tried to start learning it tonight. One question: how do I start LaTeX in vim?
Post Body

I've only found one guide, which told me to install Latex-Suite, which I did, but then all its further instructions for opening up templates involved running gvim, and wouldn't a gui defeat the purpose of using vim in the first place?

Since I have LaTeX, vim, and Latex-Suite installed, is all I need to do in vim is to open a new document and start hammering in LaTeX tags and formatting and save it as a .tex? Or is there more to this...

I'm a total newb when it comes to using text editors in terminal, so forgive me.
