A little while back I had posted about the sound being softer than my Windows partition. I tried everything, modified daemon.conf for higher audio sampling, alsamixer to the max, pavucontrol per application, drivers but nothing seemed to do the trick. Ubuntu was always playing sound at half throttle compared to windows.
I have an HP Omen Obelisk 875 series desktop and today I figured why not just unplug the speakers from the Line Out slot and put them in to the headphone slot up in the front. That seemed to do the trick !!! Volume is as loud as it was on Windows
Its still a bizarre way to solve this, but its a solution nonetheless. Any insights as to why this happened will be great, but just wanted to post this to help others out.
