Best way to try many different distros?
Post Body

I want to test out Linux on one of my machines and am wondering which method is generally the best way to try out multiple distros. Depending on if I find one that I really like, I may permanently switch. I know the two main ways to test out the distros (besides VirtualBox) are to load them onto cd/dvd or use a USB drive. My main questions are:

  • Is one way faster or easier or just works better?
  • If I am just trying the distros out, I will probably be running them directly from the CD/DVD/USB so will one of those actually run the distro faster/smoother or just affect downloading?
  • Does USB 2.0 vs 3.0 make a difference in this instance?

Any responses are greatly appreciated.
