I have extremely limited experience with Linux but am looking to try it out more. The machine I would be installing it on is an HP Pavilion desktop from 2009 with Windows Vista Home Premium currently on it.
Specs:
Processor: AMD Athlon x2 3800 2.4GHz
Nvidia GeForce 6150 LE graphics
2GB RAM
300GB Hard Drive
I am just looking for recommendations of what to try. Just doing a little bit of research, it seems like Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon might be a nice starting point to get more accustomed to Linux but I'm not sure if that would run somewhat slowly on my machine. Like I said, I am very inexperienced with Linux so am looking for a little guidance on which distros are easier to use than others and which are lightweight enough to give my aging vista machine a slight performance boost.
