Hello!

I want to create a web application where users can complete cyber challenges within their web browser. These challenges will feature a terminal inside the browser which would be connected to a Linux server (maybe via SSH) on the back-end.

Each user session would need to present the challenge environment and be non-persistent, so any changes are not saved. Multiple users will need to be able to connect at the same time and be presented with the same challenge. What's the best way to approach something like this without having a dedicated VM per session? This would be super expensive / inefficient and not be very scalable.

Thanks!
