So I need the PC to boot up. Then I need it to bring up a tablet like menu with clickable buttons and some basic graphics.
The buttons need to be:
Training Videos / Documents
Blueprints
Standing Deployment Orders
Roster
Then I need clicking those to navigate me to the directory, and give me a list of the files in there. I might need another option or two, but thats about it.
The only filetypes and containers it needs to be able to handle are:
MP4, Powerpoint, pdf, jpeg, png, avi
Hell, maybe there's even a niche Linux distro based around this. I'm most comfortable with ubuntu, but will use just about anything.
Basically, I am using an old HP all-in-one machine to test it out, and see if it gets used. If it does, I'll be putting together a much nicer version. The future version will require touch screen use too.
This machine will not be on any network, it will be solely used to access local files, or files on a USB.
I know this isn't REALLY a Linux question, just hoping to get pointed in the right direction.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
