[Help] Windows user experimenting with Linux Mint here. Is there any software to turn off my computer fan when I dont need it to cool it that much?

Hey Reddit, Ive used Windows XP for years. As its soon to be no longer officially supported, and I cant afford a newer Windows, Ive been dual booting with Linux Mint recently and doing my best to adjust to it in case I need to make the switch.

With Windows my fan only runs when it needs to, since I seem to have a rather heat-efficient machine. The fan spins up when I start a game or do something CPU-intensive, but the computer is nearly completely silent when idle. The fan has become something of a subconscious hint that Im doing something important, and its kind of putting me on edge as it runs constantly while Im using Linux. Does a background program exist to automatically control the fan like that?
