I need a new word in French
Post Body

So there's this phrase, "couper les cheveux en quatre". Literally it means to cut hair in four parts, but it signifies "to endless argue about points of detail".

There's also this other phrase, "tiré par les cheveux", lit. "pulled by the hair" and it means that the previous statement was really out there, not realistic. Well this phrase has a word which amounts to the same, "capillotracté".

I want to make a word that means "couper les cheveux en quatre". So far I only have "capillotétratomie". I guess it mixes Latin and Greek roots, which is a no-no in some views? Anyone has a better idea?
