What is the âlessonâ we get from âthe real endingâ?, I think that part of it is that we gotta learn to let go and live with the consequences of our actions and the way life is. So, the âcanonâ ending implies letting Chloe die, Max doesnât âchange anythingâ and thus, the tornado is never set off. BUT⌠this just doesnât add up, sheâs letting 1 person die, but sheâs getting Jefferson arrested, sheâs saving Kate, Victoria, herself, Nathan and even all of the future victims!, I mean, the course of time and space DIDNâT go as intended anyway, and she changed a lot of things, so, in order to that ending to work, she should let Jefferson do his thing, she should let Kate die, etc., so⌠could that ending be really canon, or is it too flawed to be taken as such?
Now, Bae ending. Here both Max and Chloe gotta learn to live with their actions. Max set the tornado in motion and is accepting the consequences of her actions, INSTEAD of trying to fix everything once again (which the game tells us just doesnât work). She accepts the consequences and thereâs no more changes in the space/time, they just drive away, they keep going forward, not backwards. So, the REAL ending would be that scenario, becuz things actually end there, consequences had happened, while in the Arcadia ending, we donât really know what consequences will happen for changing that much of the course of time, and I think that, based on what seems to happen for saving one sad girl, are we supposed to expect everyone will be happy and there wonât be any consequence when Max saves that many people?
Now, I loved both endings, but the ârealâ ending didnât seem so real to me after I reflected on this, so, I think the most real thing would be to accept that Maxâs powers had a consequence, but also happened for a reason, and now people/survivors just have to keep going. Iâm not saying this becuz I cannot accept Chloeâs death, but itâs just that I donât feel like letting her die with all of that uncertainty is logic, it doesnât get along with the game lesson, I mean, If max could somehow lose her memory, that would work great, cuz that way NOTHING would alter reality, but thats not whatâs happening here. So what do you shaka brahs think? I think that this maybe even opens the possibility to a sequel :P, but thatâs for another time.
