Max, the tornado and the dream (or vision) from ep 1

According to some theories, the tornado is been caused by Max playing around with time, and the butterfly effect. but, when Max wakes up from the "dream" (could be a vision too) at the start of episode 1, i wondered why Max had the vision if at that moment she hadn't played yet with time...what do you guys think?
