Acting Soundtrack Beautiful Scenery Social driven story

-Bad Character Development -Ultra unrealistic story -Whiny unlikeable characters -No control of powers

I’ll start with the good. LIS2 is absolutely beautiful. The scenery, the score, the animations and drawings are superb. It brings you into the life of Sean and Daniel and never lets you go. You feel every ounce of their pain through the top notch voice acting and you see the emotional trauma play out through the entire story.

Now that we have the good out the way let’s get to the bad. Yes I know it’s a game about superpowers which is already unrealistic but the writers could’ve tried harder. Sean and Daniel are on the run for the MURDER OF A POLICE OFFICER and yet they use their real names the entire time and don’t get caught. Like what?? Sean was even using his phone for days and wasn’t tracked?? Come on now. And then Karen used her real name all these years and was unable to be found?? She even held a job and you’re telling me no database or anything had this in their records?

In a real life situation if things played out like this Sean and Daniel would have been caught in no time. And with all the tech we have Karen would’ve he been found as well.

They never changed their appearances or got haircuts while on the road. They also frequented public places. They would’ve been caught plain and simple.

Let’s talk about the character development. Daniel stays a whiny brat the entire game with no sense of how much a danger he is to himself or others. And I know you all say “he’s a kid” but most 9 year olds have plenty more common sense than that. And then Sean having this ego self driven mission to go to Mexico without any compromise with his brother and expecting him to blindly listen is insane. As a 15 year old with a sibling you should have some kind of insight into the thought process of a child. I guess this is supposed to reflect that they both have the selfishness of their mother inside of them…but come on now. And when you get to Mexico what was gonna be the plan? Be a set of kids with no money and just wonder around Mexico? There was never even a real plan discussed.

Daniel thinks his brother is dead and leaves him there and does nothing. No matter what you choose Daniel does whatever he wants and has anger issues. This is to touch on developmental behavioral issues in children dealing with trauma but it becomes more of an annoyance than anything. It becomes an even bigger annoyance when Sean never addresses it properly

The story was put together to pull at our heartstrings and to address socioeconomic factors but it fails to address them in a likely way.

It’s a solid game but it’s way too flawed to be considered great.
