Ive been wearing glasses for 16 years, and all throughout, one problem keeps happening: THE LEGS, they break off, the screws go missing, the hinges giveout; and the only fix for me was tape or wire, but it never really held. Yesterday, after a night drinking with a friend. I misplaced my glasses, only for them to get runover by his car. Since i wear a specific type of frames (result of years and years of trying different shapes, sizes and styles) the new frames are gonna take a week to get here, so i had to search the internet to find a better solution than tape. Thanks to Adam Savage, the guy from mythbusters, i found out about superglue and sodium bicarbonate. I drilled a small hole through the front of the frames and the center of the legs to give them a rigid support, then sprinkled some powder at the joints and applied superglue, the result was a rock hard union, even though this is just a temporary fix, i have no doubt it will last a very long time.
TLDR: broke something and need to fix it urgently? Try sprinkling sodium bicarbonate at the joining point and then apply superglue!
