There is another type of life coaching I rarely if ever hear people talk about which has a lot more to do with helping people fall in love with themselves and what they already have in life as well helping them see how the world is working "for them" versus "against them" ...
It seems like the standard modus operandi is to try to get out of one's circumstances or something that is seen as intolerable or difficult to be with (i.e. which can be accomplished by going after tons of money, get saved by a relationship, getting out of a challenging relationship, etc) . .
There are a variety of good marketer coaches who play on this and sell to this desire... but are these coaches who are often promising the moon really getting long term results with their clients (if we really were to take this one apart and examine it much more closely...if someone dared)???
Maybe, for these marketer coaches, it is not so much about about selling results but rather selling the "dream of getting the results" versus getting the actual results themselves...I don't know but something to ponder.
Thomas Leonard (creator of Coaching University) told the truth about it later saying only a tiny few coming out of his and other coaching programs and coaching schools ever make it as coaches.
Alexander Everett, the mentor for Werner Erhard who started EST which became Landmark Education, and also the mentor for many other very famous personal development gurus said that only 7% of the people coming out of his schools and other similar ones like it ever had successful results... disenchanted by this he gave his school to his students.
Maybe something that few want to hear but perhaps time to tell the truth about it...
Here's something to consider...what if you could get infinitely superior results with coaching clients by working with them to see what is good and right about their current lives? And what if you could have a financially sustainable coaching practice with people in this way?
What if the design of the world was perfect at the end of the day and something each of us inadvertently created this lifetime to have a very specific experience - where the actual hidden goal was to "get right with that which we created"- but you hadn't been around long enough to actually see this clearly?
What if the next thing could only show up, unless you got "right" with what is right in front of you right now? ...and until you can get "right" with it, you just keep on getting more of the exact same thing or variations of the same thing...there is the old adage - what we resist persists...
I am all for people having dreams...I do as well...but perhaps reached a point where I was spinning my wheels and realized that maybe I was having the perfect life and to get right with it instead of trying to escape it / resist it...and that's when things really started to take off in very magical ways and a ride much more interesting than I could have ever imagined... it's an interesting paradox to consider...
Maybe you might just get way better results with your clients and yourself if you tried something like this out as an experiment...just some food for thought...
