After 4 years I’m burned out on therapy. I have gotten a ton out of it but I’ve come to realize it’s no longer what I need. Looking for recommendations for an experienced coach. I say this for a reason; I talked to a less experienced one and she was pretty overwhelmed. Some of what I have going on:
- I don’t like where I live but I’m anchored here by shared custody.
- I have been at my job for a decade and want something new. Looking for a more executive level role and I don’t know how to move into that.
- I’m polyamorous and trying to navigate multiple relationships and dating 2 years out of a long monogamous marriage.
- more than anything I want to find community and don’t know how to do that.
I want to change my life in some major ways and need help prioritizing all the different things and formulate some plan or at least rough guidelines to go by. One person doesn’t have to address all of these but needs to be comfortable with them. My therapists have been scared off by one or more of the things I want to accomplish in life. I’m smart, strong willed, motivated. I like these qualities about myself but I need someone who can contain some of that energy and help guide me. I would like a male perspective on things, my life is filled with women and I’m grateful for that but I’ve also come to realize that when you really get down to the core of masculine issues in society I have not found one who can really hold space for those things. I’m open to female/trans/nb folks but having experience with guys dating would be huge.
Any recommendations? Is a life coach even what I’m looking for?
