I finally got right with that I'm probably never going to be someone famous, have huge worldly success, be uber-wealthy, a Hollywood actor, famous internet guru and life is probably just going to be very simple, plain and not flashy. I also am NOT going to make "The Difference" or "Save the Planet", and all I can say is "thank God for that and what a huge relief not thinking I have to chase all those things anymore or thinking I'm some sort of failure or loser if I don't accomplish them this lifetime!!!". . . There is so so so much more peace and space to listen and really be available for others and do more of the things that really feel good and are enjoyable (versus constantly feeling and being driven to live up to some impossibly high standard, keep up with the Joneses and "shoulds", with all the comparing and judgment that comes with that). . .
What I've discovered is that there's a whole other form of coaching work which perhaps makes more of a profound difference for someone than anything. . .
What I'm referring to is coaching work that helps someone discover that they're not broken, don't need to be fixed or healed and helping them see that they're having the "right" and "perfect" life for them regardless of their circumstances with whatever setup they currently have. . .basically - helping someone fall in love with their life they already have and getting interested in what they've created (and embracing all of themselves).
While it might seem that we're missing out on something if we let go of chasing worldly success, fame, fortune or having to make "The Difference" or "saving the planet" - but consider that life is a funny thing . . .perhaps we actually are far more available and much more space to make a meaningful contribution in life to others and the world when we're NOT going for all that other stuff . . .Not that there's anything wrong with pursuing those other things. . .I'm just suggesting that there's something else available here for those who have the ears to hear it. . .
As we age, it seems like other values start to become far more important - having more depth of love and compassion for oneself, others and the planet, a sense of community, taking care of contributing and being generous with others, having a simple life versus insanely complex and busy and frenetic all the time, living a more mindful sort of existence. One begins to spend more time in enormous gratitude for all the good things that one has in their life just the way it is and isn't.
I'm finding that so many of the things that seemed so far out of reach finally are just starting to show up easily and effortlessly without the struggle anymore when dropping the attachment to the things I used to think were so important.
In the game of poker it turns out that you can win with whatever "hand" you've been dealt (even if you have terrible cards in your hand, you can still win if you're a good poker player and you know how to play your hand well). I find life is similar in that regard - you can "win" with whatever hand you have been dealt and whatever circumstances and opportunities you have, no matter where you are on the planet, what parents you have, what your financial and health situation is, and whatever else.
Basically - this other form of coaching I'm referring to is helping someone accept and "get right" with whatever "hand" they've been dealt and learning how to win with whatever you've got.
I'm putting on a series of interactive online meditations coming up which are an access to seeing what is really great about their life and living with much more gratitude for anyone who is interested and wishes to attend.
The first one is happening this upcoming Sunday, September 25th at 4:00pm Pacific Standard Time.
The format of these is - we'll start off with an opportunity to share what goals one would like to have; we'll be doing a guided meditation; and then having another optional opportunity for sharing in an environment which is an opportunity to discover what's really right and good about your life right now and that you're unconditionally loved no matter what.
The link to register for the upcoming meditation are below:

If you're planning on attending my request is that you keep your web camera on on your device so everyone can see you and limit or eliminate distractions (i.e. close other windows on your computer or device, turn your phone ringer off, don't text while in session, or anything else that would be a distraction to others who are participating).
If you need to change your RSVP, please do so as soon as you know you won't be able to attend for others on the waiting list.
Cheers, J
