Rural/small town librarians: how early is too early to send a resume?
Post Body

My family is moving within the next year. I’ve been out of the library field for about 18 mo to deal with family health issues (also reason for the move). I’m looking to work at our new home library.

I’m torn on whether it’s way too early to start the process or if earlier is better due to hiring times (my previous job had 2 months between final interview and orientation).

I’m really excited to get back into the field but also chopping at the bit to get started because if we have offer letters for employment, that affects our housing options.
