LPT: One way to convince someone close to you on the value of having a firearm is having them listen to the local police scanner feed on broadcastify

I've had a few people listen to their local police feed on broadcastify; nothing reinforces that you are responsible for your own safety more than having calls for people attempting to kick in doors, violating protective orders, etc. and the officers responding they are "5 minutes out" (or more) as the dispatcher relays the information from scared callers hiding in bathrooms armed with a steak knife, etc..
