What was your first firearm and what was your reason for picking it?

Watching Reacher (having read the series as a kid) I was reminded that my first firearm was a Steyr S40 and I chose it after having never heard of Steyr pistols before reading about them in one of the Reacher novels. Sadly, it's the only firearm I have ever sold... I still swear I'll get another one someday as I did love that pistol and it's unique sights.
