Is there a way to disable "avoided poor internet connection"?

The wifi does this on the G5 and it drives me nuts. If I'm at a hotel with really bad hotel wifi (1-5 mbps) it will auto disconnect me. I can't find a way to disable it and I can't get root since I'm on the AT&T model... Can anyone help?
