EDIT: SOLUTION BELOW TL;DR: Phone stuck in reboot loop at LG logo. Just want to turn the damned thing off. Did some software stuff in attempts to turn it off with zero success. Button combos and the like seem to not do anything. Need help turning it off!
THE ISSUE:
Just like the title describes, my LG G2 is stuck in a boot loop where all that appears is the LG logo briefly then goes blank and repeats that process. The pretty lights flash in and out at the top during all of this which seems normal. It once was able to get to the T-Mobile start up and went to my lock screen. From there after attempting to unlock the phone it went blank and has been doing the whole restarting over and over.
MY ATTEMPTS AT FIXING:
Now the phone is all factory, not rooted, just has my contacts and photos that I would really like to retrieve from it. I attempted to do a factory reset on the device but it wont respond to the commands of power button down and volume down button to get to the screen of asking to confirm if I would like to reset the phone.
Another attempt I tried to do was download the LG G2 flash recovery program and upload their T-Moble .kdz file. I was able to get to the "Download Mode" by holding the power and up button, once I was able to get there it pops into firmware update then holds for about a second then restarts without any other inputs from me. Also, the phone isn't recognized by either of my computers for longer then a few seconds because of it forcefully restarting itself.
WHAT I'D LOVE TO HAPPEN:
To be able to restore my phone to working condition but I've accepted that that wont be happening in this universe so for now I would really like to just turn it off and stop it's restart loop. Please halllp
SOLUTION(?):
So, I attempted the suggested method from /u/6paq and it did not work for me. I later decided, screw it, I'll just leave it and if it fries out it fries out. I found that once it had fully charged that I was able to get to my lock screen. I kept myself from having too much hope since it had happened before. I unlocked it expecting it to then fall back into the restart loop and miraculously it unlocked without going into a reboot loop. I've been very careful with it to hopefully not trigger something to make it fall back into it's loop. I was able to pull off all of my pictures and things from my phone that I needed. Now with my SIM card inserted it will not read it.... so that's a new issue. Attempted after exhausting other options to have my SIM card read I reluctantly restarted the phone and now it is back into it's reboot loop... Here's to it hopefully fixing it'self again and the SIM card working!
