Hello LGBT,
I have a friend who has a 15 year old who asked her "Mom, am I weird? I think I like boys."
From what she understands, watching Sex Education (the series) made this boy identify or find himself for the first time. He had the courage to basically come out to his mother. Her reply was that it's not weird at all but that she thinks he's still too young to fully know.
I have a feeling that if some of you had the same reply, it didn't feel well. Was this something your parents told you? How did it make you feel? What can I formulate or share with her to make her understand this is not a phase, and that if this boy said this to her, he has been feeling it for a long time and just now got the courage to say it.
Just to clarify, she is going to support him with whatever decision he makes. She still loves her son, but thinks it's something time will change,.
Thanks ahead for the help.
