For the folks here who are currently in a relationship/married.. How are you and your partner dealing with finances?

My partner and I have been together for 11 years now; However, we have only decided to live together this year. We have a joint bank account where we mostly put in our savings as a couple. But with other expenses, we usually would split it.

I have my own savings and investments though, and I was telling him to do the same.. The point I was telling him is, even though we're a couple, we need to have that sense of independence.

But how about the others here? What's your own experience in dealing with finances with your partner?
