Being called "chronically online" for knowing/discussing more obscure sexual or gender identities
Post Body

Disclaimer: I'm aware that what I'm experiencing is likely very rare, but it got me thinking.

Has anyone else been seeing this dog-whistle where people accuse queer people of being "chronically online" just for knowing or discussing less prominent identities?

I have had 2 separate conversations (not a lot, I know) in the past few months here on Reddit about this exact issue with different users and I'm wondering if it's more widespread. Yes I'm aware that reddit is not the best place to connect on this stuff but one of them was even on a queer sub.

I'm not trying to ring alarm bells unless other people may have seen this too, as it's kind of new to me but it just tastes exactly like all the other talking points where people try to erase people because of either a lack of interest or just straight up hatred.
