Whenever they talk about someone thatâs gay (not that thatâs all they talk about, but when they do-) they need to point out the fact that theyâre gay, and then immediately follow it up by âitâs ok/ I donât have a problem with it/ I donât see them any differentlyâ. It always pisses me off. Not because I believe differently, but like- if you really thought that, what was the point of specifying that they were gay in the first place? Itâs not normal to be like âhi, this is my straight friendâ. To me, and Iâm probably wrong on this with a shitty outlook, but itâs like they win some mental trophy for specifying they view gay people as equal. Itâs weird cause they feel like they need to specify it to eachother every time itâs talked about
Like- they both are aware of each others opinions, yet they continually feel the need to say it out loud. Would it not just be a given to treat them equally thus not saying theyâre gay? Am I just some homophobe thatâs in the wrong here?
