I sincerely apologize if this type of post isn't right for this subreddit. If there's another sub that would be better suited, please let me know!
I have a friend who is still a minor and is currently experiencing a crisis of faith as they put it. I don't know everything going through their head of course, we only just had our first conversation on the topic, but I know they're struggling to mentally reconcile the fact that they were raised religiously and live in a very conservatively religious area, while at the same time being LGBT.
I told them my perspective as a non-religious person, which is basically that I like to think God would above all be loving and wouldn't have a problem with how people live their lives so long as they aren't hurting someone else.
I guess my question is basically: can you think of anything else I could tell them that might be helpful or meaningful?
