How to get rid of internalised compulsory heterosexuality?
Post Body

For the people who came out later in life, that have been in straight relationships for years before figuring out they're gay, how did you get rid of the internalised compulsory heterosexuality? I'm 24 and only recently came out, only ever been in relationships with guys and have never been with a girl. I'm really really struggling with coming to terms with being a lesbian. I feel like there is a whole lot of internalised compulsory heterosexuality I don't know how to get rid of. I'm having the hardest time processing and accepting being gay. It would really help to hear some stories of people who went through this or maybe talk to someone in private. I don't have anyone in my personal life to discuss this with.

Edit: thanks everyone for the replies. I'm a little too overwhelmed to reply to them separately, but I really appreciate them and will follow the advice I got.
