Here’s the deal - I’m on PrEP, don’t use condoms, and have had STDs in August, December, and March (I know I should use condoms but that’s not what this is about). One of my partners told me about DoxyPEP to prevent some STIs and I did some independent research on it. I’m aware it’s not a miracle drug and some people have hesitations because of antibiotic resistance, but I think it would be the right choice for me. I told my doctor this, but he’s resistant to prescribing it because “STDs are super easy to treat anyway”. Gonna be honest, don’t love that reasoning. So I’m trying to find a doctor who would be a bit more understanding of my situation and, if there are actual scientific concerns, have a conversation about it. Anyone have any tips on where in New York City I could go?
