Hello all!
My name is Luke, 27 (he/him) - I've been DMing for about 15 years now, and I love creating awesome stories with players who are motivated to roleplay and work towards strong character goals. I'm looking for 2 or so people who could play a weekly (maybe bi-weekly) Saturday night game. We'll be running things on Discord with occasional use of Owlbear Rodeo for music and larger maps.
I want to do a somewhat classic D&D game that focuses on story, narrative, voices, and a story that we're all passionate about. We will be figuring out exactly what type of game we want to play once we are all together, I might have one or two people I've played with before! I'm very open to playing something besides 5e (many seem to be allergic to anything that isn't 5e lol) But I'm open in general.
***As a note, if you’re looking for more of a silly/modern feel/tone like Dimension20 or similar shows, this game might not be for you. We’re really looking for dramatic and fantasy storytelling themes, less of a high school/modern sensibility. Specifically though, this is not in relation to the sociology of the game - representation and progressive values are very important to me and the people I play with. But Highschool dramas at a dragon magic academy can be fun for some lol we’re really looking for more fantastical themes-betrayal, power, dark magic.
My DMing style is somewhat similar to Matt Mercer in spirit, I love doing silly voices and making each other laugh. As a DM, I live for players having in-character scenes and dialogue and making creative character decisions. Not a fan of power-gaming, rules-lawyering, meta-gaming, or characters without a strong motivation to adventure in my groups.
This is an 18 game with a slight preference to people around my age.
Please fill out the form below - there are a decent amount of questions because I want to make sure the fit is right. I really want to bring together an awesome group that gels well. For the last question, please put in "I'm ready for adventure!" somewhere in that answer :)
So far, I've had really good experiences with people here on LFG. I haven't had any serious issues with any racism/sexism/homophobia, which I definitely want to keep that way. We'll talk about lines and veils once we get the group together.
I'm super excited to hear from everyone - I'm planning on going for 5 to 8 sessions total!
