Hello, my name is Biz, and I am hosting a casting call for an actual-play podcast called Border Ethereal. I am looking for our final co-host and entertainer dedicated to putting out quality content with representation in mind, and, of course, a player who wants to have fun creating a collaborative storytelling experience to share with others. People who are only looking for a game to play need not apply, as this is a serious undertaking that will require passion and dedication; You will get out what you put into it. That being said, I am so excited to build this team, and to make what I hope will be long-lasting friendships. We will be working together towards a joint goal, but we're definitely going to be having lots of fun along the way!

Border Ethereal, as intended, is an actual-play podcast that focuses on themes of diversity, mental health, and interpersonal relationships. Border Ethereal is part of the Skald's Tale network.

We are looking to fill the final player slot for the podcast, rounding us out at 4 players and GM. If you're an entertainer-type who desires to be part of a meaningful project and build a community, this form is for you.

We will record on Mondays at 8-11 PM EST. Released episodes will fall into the 40-60 minute range. You should expect 2-3 recording sessions a month.

We will run though a short introductory adventure to see if the group is a good fit.

​

The first campaign will use the MASKS system, a pbta game about teen superheroes. This game is set to explore an overarching plot, but to also focus in on the identities and personal struggles of the characters, particularly when it comes to their relationships and home life.

Future campaigns will use different systems, with a slight preference for narrative systems over rules-heavy systems.

​

This application is for adults only, meaning anybody under the age of 18 will be denied.

All participants are required to possess the following:

​

1) Mid- to High-quality audio setup.

2) Quiet, reliable recording space.

3) Reliable internet connection.

4) Discord account.

All participants are expected to abide by the following code of conduct:

​

1) Be respectful to everyone and understand that everyone may have a different perspective.

2) No hate speech, discrimination, or shaming of any kind; this includes (but not limited to) comments or actions on the basis of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disabilities, bod type, religion, or nation of origin.

3) Use the safety tools provided and respect others' boundaries.

4) Ask for consent before doing something that will affect other players' characters or may cross a boundary for someone. Respect others' choices to give or withhold their consent.
