Against all the evils Hell can conjure, the forces of Good shall send only you… and 3 to 5 other people, to save Baldur’s Gate just so it can be attacked by mindflayers in the latest video game.

Plunge yourself into the eternal darkness that awaits all who fall to the tyranny of law and evil in this brutal adventure. Fight against the forces of darkness and defeat Zariel, or decide that that’s lame and join Zariel in her war crusade against the demons of the abyss. The pieces are set, the world is on fire, and it’s yours for the taking. Can your character resist their inner vices and overcome this overwhelming evil? Do they even want to?

Welcome to Baldur’s Gate, descent into Avernus. A campaign that ranges from the screaming lake of lost souls that is the river styx to the much more terrifying lands of Baldur’s gate’s late stage capitalistic nightmare. Battle fanatical psychopaths or even ally yourself with them in this twisting game of infernal Politics and Demonic ruthlessness. Are you the stalwart hero, incorruptible by even the juicy meaty thighs of an abyssal chicken? Are you an amoral rogue who lost their parents so they seek to make as many cultist babies fatherless in response? Are you the horrible homebrew that slipped through the cracks because I was dumb enough to let you play Zariel’s actual child? Hopefully not that last one, but I’m more than excited to see what you come up with.

So come on, hit me with your best shot. Send me your character concept as well crafted as you can muster! Make sure to make them fun to play, fun to play with, and fun to DM for. Because in Hell, the only friends you’ll have are the ones you made before your descent.

This game will feature brutal combat, a black as Fargo sense of humor, and moral conundrums that literally define the fate of your soul. Battle infernal corruption as Hell works to beat you down into a perfect soldier for its army… or maybe don’t fight it at all if you and the group start to believe Zariel isn’t so bad. Despite what the book may have you believe, I don’t define who the main villain is entirely… you can! Perhaps you find her unholy crusade tantalizing and want to abandon your holy quest to fight against the demons in a grand display of destruction against the multiverse’s growing cyst.

You will start at level 3, meaning your backstories can reflect a level of competence that puts you a peg above most normal folk but far from the epic heroes you will by the end of things. You’ll get one free feat of your choice, any feat, but just keep in mind that I’m no green DM, I know how players try to break games with crazy multiclasses and certain overpowered builds. Don’t try to break my game. I use point buy, regular starting equipment or Gold, almost no homebrew and none that isn’t first approved by me, and Everything will be rolled electronically and open for everyone to see. There’s a very real chance your character will die. It sucks, but it happens. And if it makes you feel any better, given where the campaign takes place, you might get to see them again! Please, no races from outside the forgotten realms setting. That means no planeshift, Eberron, Rick and Morty lovecraftian nightmares, or anything else from different universes.

Please be 18 or over as this game will be dark and intense at times. I don’t want my devils to have to use clean Christian vernacular when referring to the heroes kicking their butts!
