Hey!
My name's Luke, looking for an online game weekly or bi-weekly akin to the style of critical role (I'm not a pro voice actor and I don't expect anyone else to be lol - I just like the style of it, and I pursue the immersive and character-focused style similar to CR :))
I'm a progressive LGBTQI person who's run for all kinds of people and played with all kinds of people (though if you support trump, maybe not lmao). I love the focus on representation D&D has made for all types of people (but they could be doing way more obv). I don't play games that feature sexual assault or any other kind of horribleness, ESPECIALLY if it's done by players. Dark themes are often a very interesting things to explore in D&D with things like Curse of Strahd, but I hope most of us know there's an extremely fine line there that should basically never be crossed (players assaulting NPC's, rape jokes, DM's sexually assaulting players' characters - holy shit why does this happen ever ever ever).
I've had to deal with "that guy" off and on for most of my D&D career - the DM struggle is real, but it's so rewarding. But I have a strong desire to relax and just RP a character I know I'll enjoy, that fits well with a group and in the world. I'm not into min-maxing or powergaming or rules lawyering, I think Rule 0 is a great thing and as long as a DM is doing what is fun/respectful and honoring the players/characters' story and person, then that's awesome.
I prefer less anime-style out there games in favor of much more realistic, low fantasy styles. (I have loved anime series' in the past haha but I don't have fun playing the high school teen drama in D&D lol). I love more Lord of the Rings-style realness and immersion and those types of things.
I will say also that I do love other systems as well, I'm not 100% tied to D&D though I love it. I love trying new things and seeing how they work. I'm super down to try a oneshot with a new group or form one with others I don't mind!
I'm usually free monday, every other tuesday, wednesday, and friday nights with availabilities many weekend days also but those are more chaotic.
Thank you for reading :) I prefer Discord most of all but would be willing to try other things. Stay safe, happy online gaming! You can PM me if you would be excited to have me and think your style/group/world/campaign might be a good fit!!!
