BLUF: Lost 3 players in a campaign. One to moving to Denver for school and 2 were a couple whom I wasn't their cup of tea. Presently have 2 players and looking at Eberron. Meet every week at Wednesday in Enchanted Realms.
Alright, experienced DM here but still learning different expectations and edicate between running a campaign for military and running one for civilians. For example, that sometimes people won't volunteer their issues if not directly asked over a plot point or rules call.
Presently down to two core players and looking for more steady players in the future. We've gone through several in the last year. 3 over issues with either a rule call - Legendary Ability of a monster and the party not clarifying upfront about flanking optional rule - or the difference of opinion on Warlocks - can Warlocks loose their power by defying their patron, mechanically no, lore...unsure. Two players moved away - Denver and Joined the Military. One just...ghosted and we never found out why.
Putting this all out so folk who look at posting history have context.
Presently looking at fresh start. One of the issues was using the Planes-walker Guides to planes as those assume the players have read up on the tone and mood of the plane. Thusly we're looking at Eberron, which has a full book and a lot of flexibility in mindset and mood.
Level 1 characters.
Homebrew only by group vote.
Homebrew in play:
1) Criticals on skill checks.
2) Intimidation can use Str or Cha depending on roleplay context, can be discussed between player and DM when occuring.
