Good evening Reddit!
I am a GM who misses having fun playing Shadowrun (4e or 5e is fine with me) and I know how hard it is to run a campaign and be part of it, or even just finding a GM in the first place. So what I want to do is start a game and then go round robin with it, introducing new players to the mix and letting veterans enjoy as well. Nothing fancy, nothing insane, just a good Shadowrun game where everyone is out to have a good time.
A bit about my preferences and style. I am a firm believer that the GM is there to set the stage and run the world while the players are there to interact with that world. The GM should be willing to react to the players, not force them into arbitrary situations and deny them free will to do what they want. So if you go in and shoot someone important, then that's on you. Police might get called, security might come looking, all kinds of things based on reasonable reactions from reasonable people. I don't punish players for doing what they think is best, I just play the situation out.
So like I said, I'm looking to start a game but then do a round robin play. I don't want to be stuck GMing the entire thing all the way through. If you're new to GMing, I'm totally fine with that and don't mind helping players out to get started. If you're new to Shadowrun, I'm totally cool with that as well, and don't mind teaching the system. There's lots of good resources out there to help build and keep track of characters and whatnot.
My availability during the week is after 7 p.m. CST, on the weekends it's pretty much open. If gaming happens on a weekend, I'd prefer it to begin around noon CST because I have a friend who plays a sneaky stabby type, but it's negotiable. Please reply with your availability and relative experience with Shadowrun (again, either edition) or just PM me. Thank you for reading and have a great day!
