Hello there! "Hmmmmm what an interesting request?" You must be thinking. Well, it's true! I'm looking for a single player to run a D&D game for! Why is that the case? Here, let me show you :)
I (Recently 19 M 🥳) am a "New" DM, I've ran a TON of games, but never more than a few sessions due to scheduling and lackthereof communication on my HighSchool Clubs part
I believe a single player experience would help me develop my DMing skills faster and more efficiently than with a lot of people.
I think it would be a fun experience considering I'd be able to build a world entirely around a single players play style and wants/desires from the game
I know it can be kinda awkward at first for any One on One D&D game, but I truly want to make the experience a good one for everyone involved! I know this wall of text will be long but I want to also list some of my values as a DM below. Bare with me!!!!!
Player driven stories, I will not railroad anyone, probably just paved road. You can go off whenever you'd like but that paved road will be present and available for you if you want to get back on! And if not we'll, dirt roads aren't as pretty or well put together, but I'm sure I could make one for yah!
Rule of Cool over most things, as a DM I see any game as me giving to my players. I enjoy watching people experience things, people feel emotion, so when I make a game I want people to have as much experience and emotion as possible! Shutting down really cool experiences wouldn't give me any joy, so I'll try to aid anything my player wants to do. That being said
I'm trying to learn the game, so I will stick to the rules. It would be really fun to just sprout wings and fly for no reason, but that's not D&D, that's just playing make believe. The rules exist to aid those experiences, doing a backflip snapping the bad guys neck and saving the day is cool, but I wouldn't say that's fun. Of course you can roll the dice and try, but I'll use my discression to create DC's equal to the probability of you succeeding given your current abilities.
Improv!!! I come up with so much on the fly you can practically hear me buzz. I'm also pretty gosh darn good at it too. I do plan things, but more as an outline and enjoy the challenge and fun of just, making things work with what we have!
I will absolutely have a session zero before starting the game, even if it's just two people having a conversation- and in that we'll set boundaries, go over your character/s if you want to have options, we'll discu- OH I SHOULD PROBABLY TELL YOU THE STORY IDEA!!! I'll do that at the end okay. Session Zero will have us talking about.
Boundaries, things that you wouldn't want to be brought up and limits in terms of subject matter and gore and stuffs n things.
Scheduling, what times you'd be available how often you'd want to have session and how we could work together and make it work.
Characters and how we could weave them into the world, or how to weave the world around them.
Probably more! Like a small little one shot to see if we enjoy each other's style!
Okay, that's out of the way- My idea. So funny video about two types of High Fantasy gave me the inspiration for this.
Dragons have been gone for a long time, and they were reveared as deities and bringers of Prosperity in the old times. No one knows why but there have been many sightings recently to the North of the Country. The King of your city has called you forth as a promising champion to see the validity of these claims, and will send you to investigate them! Shenanigans ensue.
I think we start at level 3, and use whatever stat distribution technique you think you'd have the most fun with! Thank you so much for making it this far if you did, and I can't wait to meet you! I'll keep this post up as long as I haven't found a player, and when I choose a player and have a successful session 0 I'll delete this post. Or I'll forget, one of the two.
I hope you have a wonderful day!!!
