I have to change in order to not intensify.

If I continue on the way I was before, my love will only continue to grow and intensify.

Respecting that this love is not something you feel or want to give in return, I must change how I interact with you to prevent myself from becoming overwhelming to you. The depth of those interactions, the frequency. How I engage must change.

This is to protect us both. To preserve whatever good remains between us. This is not me growing cold, the fire still burns inside, I am just not adding anymore wood to it anymore. Eventually it will simmer to a slow burn and die out peacefully. As it was always meant to be.
