Dear Me,
What happened to you? Youâre just another faceless person waiting for the bus to come. Are you proud of what you are? Do you enjoy the wait, stale as it may be? You donât know when the bus will come yet you still sit there, stand there, pace back and forth there. Your tail between your legs, do you hate who youâve become?
Youâre forever petrified, watching people pass you by as little horror shows play out in your head. When will you finally grasp lifeâs hand and learn to drive? Stop waiting. Keep moving in whichever way, either forwards or backwards. Just keep going, donât let anyone hold you back.
Stop saying that you miss your old self, simply be them. You only have this life, as disappointing as that may sound. Donât wallow in self-pity and misery. I know you miss who you were. You miss being strange and free of insecurity. Because as much as you deny it, thatâs what you are now: insecure.
At least some things donât change. Youâre still giving others advice you canât seem to follow yourself. âYou donât need to find worth in others.â Will you listen when someone gives you the same advice you tell? Or will you throw yourself at them, ask them if you mean anything to them, find your worth in them?
You know I hate what weâve become. So donât ask me what happened to us. Donât suppress the truth that you already know. Donât wait at the bus stop anymore.
Sincerely, Me
