About me:

• I'm studying my Master's in Speech Pathology right now to become a speech therapist! I've always loved linguistics, psychology, biology and sociology, so this career path seemed a good combo of those disciplines. I'm someone who has to be doing work meaningful to me, whether as part of wage work or in my own time. I used to be an English teacher and loved it, but chose to leave due to public education as a system being too homophobic and ableist for me to exist in it.
• I adore cats but am tragically deathly allergic to them. Took a biology class in uni to learn if I could develop a tolerance through exposure. Unfortunately for my kind of allergy, it's anaphylactic and not medically feasible to develop a tolerance to cats. I'm more than happy for the person I date to be a cat person, but you'd have to be open to workarounds (eg: not cohabiting, cat-free bedroom, meeting at my residence)
• I'm a huge reader despite having visual processing disorders. I love poetry, creative nonfiction, and most kinds of fiction! I also love pottery, strength training, hiking (casually), and cooking. Am really keen to try out more movement-based things like MMA, dance, barre, adventure sports in the next few years.
• I'm autistic, the subclinical highly masked sort. My special interests are in psychology (psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, personality typology, learning disabilities) and topics related to eugenics for some reason (conversion therapies for queerness, disability, etc)
• I have two best friends and a handful of close friends in my support system. I also have several close online friends mainly from the US. My friends are basically my anchors and chosen family. I prioritise them deeply and hope to know how you view friendship too
• I'm physically affectionate in general. Hugs are the best!
• I'm a feminist and a leftist although I'm still formulating my thoughts on where I lie in terms of anarchist & communist thought.
• Random but I love creating lists for lots of things and planning travel itineraries

What I'm looking for:

• Ideally, a long-term relationship founded upon a strong friendship. I'm open to both non-monogamy and monogamy.
• Emotional and intellectual compatibility ('being on similar wavelengths' or compatible wavelengths)
• Someone stable, mature, curious, passionate, purposeful, who is always seeking growth and ways to create a more satisfying life
• Someone who can be supportive and 'in it' with me through conflicts and difficult circumstances

• Someone who values their mental and physical health, isn't a workaholic, and actively recovering from addictions if you have any.
• I am probably very well-suited for people in highly demanding helping professions due to my experience and sensitivity to issues that therapists, doctors, healthcare professionals etc face. My best friend is a therapist and dated a doctor-to-be in the past so I know how hard it can be for people in the mental health/medical professions to date. If you work in these professions, you'll probably find it easier to talk to me and feel understood than with most people.
• I don't want kids, so you should be on the same page for this. I also do not smoke and prefer for my partner not to smoke as I work with a clinical population that tends to suffer from many diseases caused by smoking, and I'm allergic to smoke.
